Palawan is located southwest of Mindoro and is composed of (would you believe?) more than 1,700 islands? That’s a lot to choose from.

Palawan is on our list of places to go to. We’re waiting a bit though, for four-year old daughter Ali to get bigger as Palawan is again one of those beautiful places where you will have to travel by air, land, and sea to get there. Travel time ranges from a total of one hour and a half to 4 hours, depending on which area you are visiting.

In Boracay, I’ll have to go and visit Mandala Spa. It’s one of the most popular destinations in Boracay now, offering both overnight and day packages. The rates may be quite high but compared to the rates abroad, they are still quite reasonable.

If ever we do get to return to Boracay, we will probably try staying at this resort. For one, we know the food is great. When we stayed at Pearl of the Pacific in 2001, we trekked to neighboring resort Waling Waling a few times and enjoyed several meals there.

The resort is very attractive, particularly at night, where the huts they have right up front have lighted blue lanterns. You can have a meal there, or you can get a massage, or you can also just lie down and relax.
