Balai Resort is located in Batangas, about 3 hours by land, from Manila. You can choose from two resorts: Anilao and Laiya. From the pictures in the website, the Anilao resort appears more romantic and dreamy, with its sunset boat rides; the colorful sealife; and trips to Sombrero Island (so-called because the island looks like a hat).
The Laiya resort appears to be more straightforward. The pictures are not as inviting although it also appears to be a good place to go to when you want to get away from the city. There’s a game area and a beach which families can enjoy.
There are several rooms and cottages to choose from. There are diver and non-diver packages, which come with accommodations, buffet meals and transfers. Non-diver packages range from about P2,000 to P3,000 per person per night while diver packages range from P3,500 to P4,300. The diver packages already include 2 dives a day for 2 days.
The resorts have rooms for as many as 4 to 8 people. Kids 8 years old and above are charged the full price while those who are 4-7 years old get 50% off. There’s also a day trip package (including lunch) for P700.
