This is my ultimate dream vacation spot! Dream — as in I may just think of it and never get there — although am still hoping that by the time I retire, I may finally get to visit.

This is the destination for the “rich and famous.” About an hour and a half away from Manila via a charter flight (which can cost adults about USD 325 — it’s like you already went out of the country), Amanpulo is located on a private island in Pamalican, Palawan. The name Amanpulo translates to “peaceful island” and if you have megabucks, you will probably be able to find peace here — as not many people can afford it.

There are hillside, beachfront, and treetop casitas for you to choose from. There are also private villas for those who still want more privacy. Accommodations are huge — the smallest casita is about 65 square meters in size, larger than some of the condominium units in Manila! Price per room/casita/villa ranges from USD 650 to USD 3,000 a night.

Guests can go around the resort in golf carts. They can enjoy the white sand beaches, a swimming pool, and various water-based activities. You may also relax and get a massage. Well, for you to relax as you spend that much, you must be mega-rich! So this destination will have to wait till I reach that mega-rich stage. =)
