When I think of Boracay, I think of white, fine, powdery sand; the most beautiful sunsets; and views of the sea that are so relaxing you want to keep returning to the place.
Our family has been to Boracay twice, once in 1995 and the next in 2001. That was before D’Mall and the spas like Mandala arrived. We still keep thinking of going back there — maybe in the next few years.
There’s a wide range of resorts to choose from on Boracay Island. Price, location — these will determine which resort you eventually choose. There are 3 boat stations — with most of the higher-end resorts near Boat Station 1, the quieter resorts near Boat Station 3 and most of the action and activity, in between.
What can you do when in Boracay? Just laze on the sand and enjoy the beach. Enjoy good food. Enjoy the fruit shakes. Go island hopping. Go on a banana boat. Get a massage. Shop.
You access Boracay via Kalibo or Caticlan. From Kalibo (about 40 minutes away from Manila by plane), you’ll have to take a bus ride for a little over an hour, and then take a boat ride for about 45 minutes. From Caticlan, you save yourself the bus ride. I wonder if they still use the smaller planes for Caticlan?
So what are you waiting for, go travel to Boracay
